Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks: Genocide, Complicity, Resistance

Presented by Newcastle Greens and No Weapons for Genocide
From the makers of Palestine Under Siege, Dare to Struggle Films have released their latest documentary, Palestinians Don't Need Sidewalks: Genocide, Complicity, Resistance. Through Palestinian eyes, we witness life under Israeli occupation within the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Much of the film was shot in 2023, based on the experiences of a Jewish university professor, a former member of the Australian Parliament and a Palestinian student activist as they experience first-hand, Israel's settler colonial apartheid system.
Through visiting Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem, Silwan and Nabi Samwil, the film gives an account of life under Israeli occupation prior to Hamas's gaol breakout.
In 2024 Dare to Struggle Films partnered with the Hebron Human Rights Defenders, who throughout the year gathered documentary footage of Palestinian life and of Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
The film also looks at Australia's complicity with Israel, particularly through Australia's commitment to invigorating its manufacturing base by integrating into the US military supply chain. It also touches on the role of mainstream media and how the Zionist lobby has managed to exert control over the flow of information. This film goes way beyond how mainsteam media portrays Israel. It is a film well worth seeing.
This screening is a fundraiser for the Hebron Human Rights Defenders and a grassroots group in Gaza.
Screening followed by Q&A with film-makers, ex-Senator Lee Rhiannon, and John Reynolds.
This film contains confronting images of war crimes.
Running time 75 minutes, no interval. Times are approximate and subject to change without notice.
