Civic Theatre Newcastle presents a Great Southern Nights event
Great Southern Nights 2025 takes place from 21 March – 6 April 2025 featuring 300+ gigs across Sydney and New South Wales.
Eliza Eve
The indie folk rock sensation from Newcastle. With influences like Missy Higgins and Ruby Fields, her music blends heartfelt lyrics and infectious chords. From her debut EP Here and Now to the raw energy of Loud Proud Woman (Live at Equium), Eliza Eve is a force to behold.
Eliza weaves tales of passion and rebellion through her heartfelt lyrics and infectious indie rock chords, igniting a fire in the hearts of listeners worldwide.
Drawing inspiration from the Australian acoustic twang, Eliza is a blend of fun, bright, and soulful melodies that transport audiences to another dimension. Her music is a reflection of her spirit, fearless and unapologetically raw.
Sam Winder
Hailing from Newcastle, Samuel Winder has been writing music for years. Nestled confidently in the folk sphere, his 2023 debut EP Fragments is a gentle yet decisive etching into the door frame of the Australian music scene.
An introspective murmuration on growing up and learning how to feel again, Fragments melds pulsing drum machines and swirling electric guitar with candid lyrics and rolling acoustic progressions that feel like home. His rich, raw vocals hold a sense of deliberation, intention and sincerity indicative of the years spent writing, playing and learning how to let go.
Having spent a long time creating behind closed doors, Samuel is finally allowing his work to live in the open air. With music crafted primarily as self therapy, whether it be through speakers or at a live show, there’s an intimate sense of honesty here that cannot be missed.
Running time to be advised. Times are approximate and subject to change without notice.
